March 17-24, 2007

On the night of arrival we had a welcome pizza party supplied by JSC.  Representatives from Breckenridge Ski School and Mountain attended.  They gave us the ski school schedule and advised us as to where to go skiing.  We were provided with many useful   gifts and a great discount on lessons.

Monday night 32 of us went to Kenos, a great steak and rib place for all you can eat ribs. (We all ate too much)!   Thanks to James Davenport for the idea and Matt O’Rourke for getting us all tables.

Tuesday we took a group over to Keystone to ski.  The Aiosa family joined us and Kevin was out skiing with some of Jacksonville Ski Clubs top skiers, James Davenport was our ski guide for the day.  This was also the day Brad Cheek conquered Starfire, a wild blue/black run.  Go Brad and Kevin!

Wednesday most skiers took the day off and we went ice skating at the Breckenridge Arena.  The Price family tore up the ice especially Hunter, this was his first time on ice and he was almost skating backwards by the end of the day.

Mi Casa hosted our farewell dinner Thursday night for a great Mexican dinner.  We were all treated to chicken, shrimp and steak fajitas served family style, chips and salsa, and drinks for everyone.

As we were loading the bus to leave Saturday we had our first snow of the week. Six inches continued to fall as we returned to Jacksonville.   From all reports the next 3 weeks had great snow and even greater conditions. This was in April, unbelievable!  Some of the best powder days were reported for the entire season in April.
