Have An Exciting Season Ahead Calling for volunteers There are a few committees that need your help this
season. Listed below is information to help you decide which committee
may be of most interest to you: 1. Monthly socials - people are needed to help find good locations for gatherings, select menus, negotiate food and drink prices, find sponsorships, and think up new ideas for meeting themes and activities. 2. Christmas Party at Genesis Cafe - people are needed to plan the party and help keep everything running smoothly at the party (Date is Sunday, December 2, 2007). We need help with the check-in table, food and drink planning, music selection, and social activities. 3. Other events (parties, picnics, bike rides, concerts, etc.) - with the help of the JSC Board, members are invited to plan and run or just suggest any kind of social event or outing that grabs your interest. If you have an idea, let us know! If you'd like to help out or if you can make any recommendations regarding events and meeting locations, or ideas for interesting things to do at our gatherings, call Sandra at 778-1968 (nights & weekends) or email at GSXR03@comcast.net. TRIP SELECTION COMMITTEE 2007-2008 Do you have an opinion? Would you like to be involved in planning where the Jacksonville Ski Club goes next season? Craig Smith, Vice President of Trips, is looking for interested skiers to help choose trips for the 2007-2008 ski season. Committee work would begin in November. Your duties would include discussing pros and cons of various ski destinations, researching and talking to tour providers, reviewing bids and preparing a final list of recommended dates and ski destinations to the JSC Board of Directors. Contact Craig at craig.smith1@cingular.com MARKETING COMMITTEE If you are outgoing, gregarious and would like to meet people who lead an active lifestyle then the Marketing Committee is the one for you. We will be exhibiting the ski club at local area running and bike races and triathlons. You will be talking to people about the advantages of membership while making great contacts in the community. If you are interested in volunteering or finding out more information please contact Hal at hcurette@aol.com Whether you’re new to the club or a veteran member, assisting with the membership committee can be very rewarding. It’s a great way to meet new people, as we interact with everyone in the club. The membership committee welcomes volunteers who would like to serve as greeters at events or brainstorm on fun new ways to increase membership and spread the word about the Jacksonville Ski Club.
